From West Jordan City Hall, Google Maps showed about 22 minutes to downtown Salt Lake City, 18 minutes to Salt Lake City International Airport and 20 minutes to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi at midday in September 2026; rush hour takes longer. From far-west communities like Terraine, plan on about 27 minutes to downtown. The TRAX Red Line has six stations in West Jordan, and Bangerter Highway, the Mountain View Corridor and I-215 are the main driving routes.

Other active communities include Ivory Homes' Dry Creek Highlands, Holmes Homes' Oquirrh West, Woodside Homes at Sky Ranch and Toll Brothers' Copperhaven. Ask about fees: Terraine lists a $123 monthly HOA assessment and a $60.43 monthly PID fee for single-family homes.

Zillow's neighborhood home values, updated July 31, 2026, show some of the city's lower price points in Hoffman Heights at about $402,000, Park Wood and Paramount Park at about $449,000 each, and Skyview and West Point at about $457,000 each. That compares with $561,312 citywide. Newer areas cost more, such as Diamond Summit at about $563,000 and Terrace Ridge at about $600,000. Townhomes and condos are usually the lowest-priced way into the city.

Nearly all of West Jordan is in Jordan School District, where elementary is K-6, middle school is 7-9 and high school is 10-12. The city has 16 district elementary schools, four middle schools and two high schools: Copper Hills High with 2,837 students and West Jordan High with 1,761 in 2024-25 federal data. A pocket of northern West Jordan near Jim Bridger Elementary is in Granite School District, and starting in 2026-27 a small area south of 9000 South between 3200 West and 4000 West attends Bingham High. Gardner Village at 1100 W 7800 S is the city's signature spot, with local shops, Archibald's Restaurant in the 1877 Gardner mill, and WitchFest from September 18 to October 31, 2026. Jordan Landing at 7800 S Bangerter Highway has about 115 retailers and a Cinemark theater. Every July the Western Stampede brings a PRCA rodeo, parade, carnival and fireworks, and the city runs a Wednesday evening farmers market at Veterans Memorial Park in summer and early fall.
