Riverton School Boundaries: Which Schools Serve Which Parts of Town

Every public school in Riverton belongs to Jordan School District. The district's elementary schools run kindergarten through 6th grade, its middle schools grades 7–9, and its high schools grades 10–12.

What surprises most buyers is that Riverton is not one school pipeline. Most of the city feeds Riverton High. The southwest corner feeds Mountain Ridge High in Herriman, and thin slivers on the city's edges go to Herriman High and Bingham High. The guide below follows the district's 2026–27 boundary maps.

Boundaries follow streets and canals, not neighborhood names, and they do change. Midas Creek's changed this year. Before you write an offer, always check the exact address in the district's lookup tool (see the last section of this page).

Boundary Changes and Other School Options

Edge-of-Town Boundaries

North edge: a thin strip goes to Monte Vista Elementary (11121 S 2700 W, South Jordan), then South Jordan Middle, then Bingham High (2160 W South Jordan Pkwy).

What Changed for 2026–27: Midas Creek

On November 18, 2025, the Jordan School District board voted to send every middle and high school student in the Midas Creek area to Oquirrh Hills and Riverton High, starting with the 2026–27 school year. Before that, parts of the Midas Creek area went to Copper Mountain or South Hills, and then to Herriman or Mountain Ridge High.

Students already in grades 6–11 could apply for a permit to stay at their old school (with no busing). So some kids on the same street may still attend different schools. Listing details written before 2026 may also show the old schools.

Charter, Private and Specialty Options

Jordan Academy for Technology & Careers (JATC) South — 12723 S Park Ave. The district's career and technical campus for high school students, with 15 programs in areas like agriculture, public safety, education, trades and behavioral health.

How to Check a Riverton Address Before You Buy

1. Enter the address in Jordan School District's boundary lookup tool.

2. Check elementary, middle and high school separately. Zones split, so the elementary school alone doesn't tell you the rest.

3. Look at the district's boundary-change page for any approved changes.

4. Don't rely on listing remarks or a builder's brochure. As the Midas Creek change shows, they can be out of date.

If a specific school matters to your move, send me the address and I'll check the current boundary before you make an offer.
