Lone Peak sits on North County Boulevard in Highland and serves three cities: Alpine, Highland and Cedar Hills. From Alpine City Hall it is 2.7 miles and about six minutes by road.

Two details catch families moving in. Alpine School District runs a 10-12 high school model, so Alpine ninth graders are still in a 7-9 school, not at Lone Peak. And the high school is not a choice for an Alpine family: Lone Peak is the public high school for the whole city.

Getting there

Utah funds school busing for students in grades 7 through 12 who live at least two miles from school, and for grades K-6 at 1.5 miles, measured along the nearest public route. Whether a particular Alpine address qualifies for a Lone Peak bus depends on its distance, so ask the district about the address you are considering.

Alpine Elementary School, 400 East 300 North. Grades PK-6. 539 students.

Westfield Elementary School, 380 South Long Drive. Grades PK-6. 547 students.

Timberline Middle School, 500 West Canyon Crest Road. Grades 7-9. 1,322 students. 1.3 miles by road from City Hall.

Mountainville Academy, 195 South Main Street. Public charter, PK-9 per federal school data. 716 students.

The zoned schools

Alpine Elementary and Westfield Elementary are Alpine's two public elementary schools, and the district, not distance, decides which one serves a given street. Timberline, inside Alpine, is one of the two 7-9 schools that feed Lone Peak; the other is Mountain Ridge Junior High in Highland. The district assigns each address, and that assignment is not published online.

The charter

Mountainville Academy is a tuition-free public charter school that opened in 2006. Enrollment runs through an application and lottery rather than an address, so living next door does not reserve a seat. If a charter is part of your plan, check the school's current lottery dates well before you need the spot.

Private schools outside Alpine

Federal private school data lists no private school inside Alpine. Private options within a drive include:

What changes on July 1, 2027

Alpine School District's final school year is 2026-27. On July 1, 2027, Alpine becomes part of the new Aspen Peaks School District, along with American Fork, Cedar Hills, Highland, Lehi and the Utah County portion of Draper. Voters approved the split as Proposition 11 in November 2024, and Aspen Peaks has a district office at 759 East Pacific Drive in American Fork.

Aspen Peaks is collecting boundary feedback now, through October 1, 2026. The schools named in that review, as reported by the Lehi Free Press on September 9, 2026, are on the west side of the district and along the American Fork border. Alpine Elementary, Westfield, Timberline and Lone Peak were not among them, and nothing has been adopted. How to confirm the schools for an Alpine address

There is no public address lookup for Alpine School District, and Aspen Peaks does not have one yet. Call the district and ask for the assignment in writing, and do not rely on a listing portal, which pulls school data from a third party.
