Lone Peak High School Boundary and the Schools That Feed It

The high school: Lone Peak

Lone Peak High School, 10189 North 4800 West (North County Boulevard, SR-129), Highland. Grades 10-12.

Lone Peak sits inside Highland city limits on North County Boulevard. It opened in 1997 and enrolled about 2,500 students in its most recent reported year, drawing from Highland, Alpine and Cedar Hills. Alpine School District runs a 10-12 high school model, so ninth graders are still in junior high here, which surprises most families moving in from out of state.

If you buy a home in Highland, your student's high school is not a variable. That is worth saying plainly, because in Lehi, in Draper and across most of Salt Lake County it very much is. For what a Highland home itself costs, and why, see Highland Utah lot sizes.

The two junior highs

Mountain Ridge Junior High, 5525 West 10400 North, Highland. Grades 7-9.

Timberline Middle School, 500 West Canyon Crest Road, Alpine. Grades 7-9.

Mountain Ridge is in Highland. Timberline is in Alpine. Cedar Hills has no 7-9 school of its own, so its students attend one of the two. Which one a specific address attends is the one thing on this page I will not guess at, and the section below on confirming an address explains why.

The elementary schools, all seven of them

All seven elementary schools in the Lone Peak feeder run PK through 6. Three are in Highland:

Ridgeline Elementary, 6250 West 11800 North, Highland

Highland Elementary, 10865 North 6000 West, Highland

Freedom Elementary, 10326 North 6800 West, Highland

Two are in Alpine:

Alpine Elementary, 400 East 300 North, Alpine

Westfield Elementary, 380 South Long Drive, Alpine

And two are in Cedar Hills:

Cedar Ridge Elementary, 4501 West Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills

Deerfield Elementary, 4353 West Harvey Boulevard, Cedar Hills

Seven elementaries, two junior highs, one high school. That is the entire public feeder, and if your children will be in Highland schools from kindergarten through graduation, this is the whole list of buildings they will sit in.

What changes on July 1, 2027

Alpine School District is being split into three districts. Its final year of operation is 2026-27. On July 1, 2027, Highland becomes part of the new Aspen Peaks School District, along with Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Hills, Lehi and the Utah County portion of Draper. The other two new districts are Timpanogos and Lake Mountain, and neither of them touches Highland.

The split was approved by voters as Proposition 11 in November 2024. Aspen Peaks already has a board and a district office at 759 East Pacific Drive in American Fork, and its own materials confirm the July 1, 2027 start date.

What does not change: the buildings, the staff, the 10-12 high school model, or the fact that Highland, Alpine and Cedar Hills all feed Lone Peak. What changes is the name on the district letterhead, the board you vote for, and the tax entity behind the schools. Draper's Utah County side lands in the same district, which I cover on which school district Draper, Utah is in, and so does Lehi, covered on Lehi schools by grade level.

What has not been decided yet

Aspen Peaks is reviewing attendance boundaries for the 2027-28 school year right now. The board took a boundary presentation on September 10, 2026, and a public feedback tool is open through October 1, 2026. Nothing has been adopted.

So if you read a page that tells you which Aspen Peaks school a Highland address will attend in 2027-28, that page is guessing. I would rather tell you the decision is still open than print a number that changes in six months.

How to confirm the schools for a specific address

There is no public address lookup for this district. Alpine School District does not publish an online boundary tool, and the boundary subdomain that used to be referenced does not resolve. Neither does Aspen Peaks, yet.

That means three things. Call the district office and ask for the assignment in writing. Do not rely on a listing portal, which pulls school data from a third party and is frequently wrong about grade spans and sometimes about the school itself. And if you are considering a specific address, send it to me and I will pull the current assignment for you before you write an offer.

Charter and private options near Highland

Highland has no charter or private school inside its own city limits, but five sit within a short drive:

Mountainville Academy, 195 South Main, Alpine. Charter, PK-9.

Odyssey Charter School, 738 East Quality Drive, American Fork. Charter, K-6.

Renaissance Academy, 3435 North 1120 East, Lehi. Charter, K-9.

American Heritage School, 736 North 1100 East, American Fork. Private, K-12.

Challenger School, Traverse Mountain campus, 3920 North Traverse Mountain Boulevard, Lehi. Private, preschool through 8.

The charters are tuition-free public schools with lottery enrollment, so living nearby does not reserve a seat. If a charter is part of your plan, check the lottery timeline well before you need the spot.

Which high school do Highland, Utah students attend?

All of them attend Lone Peak High School at 10189 North 4800 West in Highland. Lone Peak serves Highland, Alpine and Cedar Hills, and it is the only public high school for all three cities. There is no split boundary to worry about.

Do ninth graders in Highland go to high school or junior high?

Junior high. Alpine School District runs a 10-12 high school model, so ninth graders attend Mountain Ridge Junior High or Timberline Middle School, not Lone Peak. This catches nearly every family moving in from out of state.

Which junior high serves my Highland address?
