Which high school will my kids go to if we buy in Sandy?
It depends on where in Sandy. Four high schools serve Sandy addresses: Jordan High covers the centre and west, Alta High covers the south, Hillcrest High covers a band across north-central Sandy, and Brighton High covers the north-east bench. Hillcrest is in Midvale and Brighton is in Cottonwood Heights, so a Sandy address can absolutely feed a high school in another city. Never assume Alta just because the home is in Sandy.
Is White City part of Sandy?
No. White City is its own incorporated city, completely surrounded by Sandy. It became a metro township on January 1, 2017 and a city in May 2024. Because it uses Sandy-area mailing addresses and sits inside Canyons School District, almost everyone including several agent websites calls it a Sandy neighborhood. It is not. It has its own city government and gets municipal services through the Salt Lake County Municipal Services District.
Are Alta and Snowbird in Sandy?

Be careful with Redfin on Sandy right now: its city page has not updated past October 2025, so a figure pulled from there is nearly a year old.

Not in Sandy, despite what several relocation guides say: Cowabunga Bay, the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium and Juan Diego Catholic High School are all in Draper, Topgolf is in Midvale, and the Fort Union corridor is Midvale and Cottonwood Heights.
