Two of them, soon to be three. The Salt Lake County side is Canyons School District. The Utah County side is Alpine School District, but only through June 30, 2027. Utah County voters approved splitting Alpine into three districts, and the one that takes in Draper's Utah County portion is Aspen Peaks School District, which the district's own website says officially opens on July 1, 2027. If you buy on that side of the mountain this year, your district changes while your student is still in school.

No, and this is the assumption that costs people money. Corner Canyon's boundary runs from 12300 South on the north down to the Salt Lake County line. Draper homes north of 12300 South are in the Alta High School boundary in Sandy, by way of Sprucewood Elementary and Indian Hills Middle. All three of those schools are physically in Sandy. Corner Canyon is a strong school and it gets priced into homes, so check the boundary for a specific address before you assume you are buying into it.

Zillow put the typical Draper home at $811,598 as of August 31, 2026, up 2.9% year over year. Redfin's median sale price for August 2026 was $818,458, down 3.4% year over year. Both are accurate: one is a smoothed index across every home in the city, the other is the middle of what actually closed in one month, and the gap between them is why "the Draper median" is a slippery number. It also moves enormously by area: Redfin's median sale price in June 2026 was about $1.50 million in the Corner Canyon neighborhood, $895,000 in the Draper Historic District and $876,000 in SunCrest, against $555,000 in River View on the west side in August 2026.

Both, which is unusual for a city this size. Two TRAX Blue Line stations sit inside Draper: Draper Town Center at 1131 E Pioneer Road, which is the southern end of the line, and Kimballs Lane at 11796 S 700 East. The FrontRunner station is at 12997 S FrontRunner Boulevard. Scheduled times run 21 minutes from Draper Town Center to Courthouse downtown, 24 minutes on FrontRunner from Draper to Salt Lake Central and 36 minutes to Provo Central. One thing people get wrong: Crescent View station was built as part of the 2013 Draper extension, but the station itself is in Sandy.

Ground broke on Phase 1 on June 29, 2026 - a 104-acre core inside the roughly 600 acres of state land where the Utah State Prison stood until July 2022. Under construction now: a Mountain America Event Center of about 5,000 seats, a 363-unit residential building with 42,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, a 2,000-foot walkable main street and 1.4 miles of paved regional trail. First openings are expected in 2028. The numbers quoted elsewhere - two million square feet of office, roughly 3,000 homes - are full-buildout totals a decade or more out, not what is going up now.

Elevation, and what it costs to maintain. SunCrest sits around 6,080 feet at the top, roughly 1,600 feet above the Draper valley floor, and every trip out begins with about 4.5 miles of Traverse Ridge Road at a 6.9% average grade. Snow removal, street lights and road maintenance up there are funded by a separate property tax through the Traverse Ridge Special Service District, whose boundary is broader than the SunCrest HOA. A home can be in one and not the other, so check both. In exchange you get 3,900 acres, views in two directions and summers the valley floor does not get.

According to Draper City, more than 42 parks, 150-plus miles of scenic trails and about 5,000 acres of open space, anchored by the Corner Canyon trail system on the east bench. Also inside the city: the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium at 12033 S Lone Peak Parkway, South Mountain Golf Course at 1247 E Mike Weir Drive, the Salt Lake County Flight Park on Steep Mountain Road where the paragliders launch, Wheadon Farm Regional Park at 13800 South 440 East, and the Draper Amphitheater in Draper Mountain Park on Vestry Road.
