Draper, Utah Schools: A Guide for Families Considering the Move

by Dallon Smith

Most of Draper is served by Canyons School District, the same district covering Sandy and parts of Cottonwood Heights. The part of the city that sits in Utah County — the SunCrest side of Traverse Mountain — is in Alpine School District instead, and on July 1, 2027 it moves into the new Aspen Peaks School District. It's a smaller list than some neighboring cities, but it includes two dual-immersion elementaries, a large comprehensive high school, seven charter campuses and a pre-K–12 Catholic campus. Here's the full rundown.

Elementary Schools (K-5)

School Grades Address
Draper School K-5 1080 E 12660 S, Draper, UT 84020
Oak Hollow Elementary K-5 14400 S 884 E, Draper, UT 84020
Willow Springs Elementary K-5 13288 S Lone Rock Drive (465 East), Draper, UT 84020

Draper Elementary runs a Chinese (Mandarin) Dual Language Immersion program in grades 1–5, entered through the district's dual-immersion application rather than by boundary. Oak Hollow Elementary runs a French Dual Language Immersion program. Both are worth knowing about if you're weighing neighborhoods partly on school options.

Middle and High School

School Grades Address
Draper Park Middle School 6-8 13133 South 1300 East, Draper, UT 84020
Corner Canyon High School 9-12 12943 S. 700 E., Draper, UT 84020

Corner Canyon is one of the larger high schools in the valley, with 2,437 students in 2024–25. It is worth knowing that it does not serve all of Draper: its boundary runs from 12300 South south to the Salt Lake County line, and Draper addresses north of that line are in the Alta High School boundary in Sandy. I walk through where every line falls in Which School District Is Draper, Utah In?, which covers the county split, the 12300 South line and the 2027 Aspen Peaks change.

Private School in Draper

Draper also has the largest private school campus in the south end of the valley. The Skaggs Catholic Center at 300 E 11800 South is a single pre-K–12 campus holding Juan Diego Catholic High School, Saint John the Baptist Catholic Middle School and Saint John the Baptist Catholic Elementary School.

Two things worth correcting, because they come up constantly: Summit Academy’s high school is in Bluffdale, not Draper, and Challenger School has no Draper campus — the nearest are Sandy and Traverse Mountain in Lehi.

An Interesting Local Fact

In August 2024, Canyons School District purchased eBay's former Draper campus at 583 W eBay Way for $50 million — 36 acres and a 240,000-square-foot building. It is being converted into the Canyons Innovation Center, the new home of the district's Technical Education Center, open to high school students district-wide. The opening moved from fall 2026 to August 2027. It's a good example of how quickly things can change here, and part of why I always recommend double-checking current boundaries rather than relying on older information.

Questions Draper Parents Ask Me

Is American Prep or Channing Hall the better charter option?
They're different in approach. American Preparatory Academy runs a structured, back-to-basics academic model across its three Draper campuses, while Channing Hall follows a Core Knowledge curriculum with a strong arts and classical education focus. It really comes down to which teaching style fits your child.

Which high school will my Draper address feed?
Corner Canyon if you are south of 12300 South, Alta High in Sandy if you are north of it, and neither if you are on the Utah County side of the city. Run the address through Canyons District's School Finder rather than assuming from the nearest school.

Do school boundaries affect home values in Draper?
Yes, noticeably — and not always in the way people expect. The Corner Canyon boundary gets priced in across the south half of the city, which is exactly why the 12300 South line matters: homes just north of it are in the Alta boundary instead. Price differences by area are covered in Draper Neighborhoods by Elevation, which breaks the city into the valley floor, the east bench and SunCrest.
