Herriman, Utah Schools: What Families Should Know in a Fast-Growing City
Herriman grew from about 20,000 to over 64,000 residents in just 15 years, and was ranked the fastest-growing city in the country with a population over 10,000 between 2010 and 2019. That kind of growth means a long list of schools, several of them quite new, and boundaries that shift more often than in more established cities. Here's the full rundown.

Questions Herriman Parents Ask Me
Why do school boundaries change so often here?
Herriman has added new schools regularly to keep up with growth, and boundary adjustments tend to follow. It's genuinely one of the most important things to confirm directly with Jordan District before buying, since a boundary map from even a year or two ago may already be outdated.
Is Mountain Ridge or Herriman High School the better choice?
Both are large comprehensive high schools with over 2,500 students each. The decision usually comes down to which one your specific address is zoned for rather than a meaningful difference in quality.
Are the newer schools better than the older ones?
Not necessarily academically, but newer schools often have more modern facilities and, in some cases, less crowding, at least until enrollment catches up.
I help Herriman families sort through boundaries and new construction all the time. If you'd like a second opinion on a specific address, I'm happy to help.
